Water World - Denver

Water World of Denver is extremely impressive – and this coming from a Florida girl who has been to her share of water parks. Our family did the family 4-pack deal that is purchased at King Soopers. This included 4 tickets for admission, one 16” pizza, and 4 drinks. We were happy with the ticket discount and pizza was just what we expected from a waterpark. I had heard to go on a weekday as it gets crowded on the weekends. However, we went on a Saturday and arrived a few minutes before it opened at 10am. The lines weren't bad until 1:30pm. There was a noticeable increase in people by 1:30.

If the lines are too long and you don't mind spending a little more money, there is something called Tube Valet Service. This offers all-day top-of-the-ride access and no tube carrying on Voyage to the Center of the Earth, Storm, and Lost River of the Pharaoh's. Tube Valet also includes one express ride on the Mile High Flyer, Revolution, and Cowabunga Beach. The cost of this was $50 for 4-people.

The grounds were clean and the rides are fun. Some of the rides are a blend between a moderate roller coaster and a Disney World attraction. There is a ride that actually is underground, not this girl's favorite ride (I don't like enclosed spaces), but impressive for a waterpark!

I found it great they allowed people to bring in their own cooler of food and drinks. I brought a cooler loaded with waters. It was 95 degrees, and there is a lot of walking involved. Hydrating the kids throughout the day was a good idea.

Speaking of a lot of walking involved, the park is landscaped beautifully with a ton of trees. The problem with this is that I did not feel comfortable letting my kids roam the park without us as we would not be able to keep an eye on them.

Here you could see your children doing one slide, then notice behind the slide is a wall of trees.

In the photo above, you can see a blue/yellow slide that the kids wanted to ride. Again, I could not see them due to the trees.

Now, don't get me wrong, the trees are great and the park is well maintained. But you couldn't really say, "I'm going to sit here and watch you ride those two slides. Then we'll go do the next two."

Remember your water shoes as the concrete was very hot by midday.

Go early and stay all day! Before you leave the house, pack a cooler, your sunscreen, some water shoes, and goggles. ...And make sure you've checked the Water World website under the promotions tab to see where you can purchase discounted tickets!
